Taylor Swift, 1D & Coldplay Headline 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival

(5/29/14) Billed as the biggest live music event in radio history, fans with iHeartRadio Music Festival tickets for this year’s spectacular can look forward to a star-studded line-up that includes everyone from country-pop sweethearts to globe-conquering boybands to stadium rock behemoths.

Returning to Las Vegas on the weekend of September 19/20, the fourth annual musical feast will welcome several returning acts including Taylor Swift, Usher and Nicki Minaj, all of whom are currently putting the finishing touches to new records scheduled for release later this year.

Coldplay, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Bastille and Calvin Harris lead the British contingent heading to the main stage at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, with Paramore, Ariana Grande, Motley Crue, Zac Brown Band, Train, Eric Church, Lorde and Steve Aoki also confirmed to appear on the impressively eclectic bill.

Having recently reached number one on the US Hot 100 with “Fancy,” Australian rapper Iggy Azalea will follow in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus by performing on both the main stage and the daytime Festival Village stage at the lot across from the Luxor Hotel and Casino, where she will be joined by Neon Trees, Kacey Musgraves, Childish Gambino, MAGIC!, The Pretty Reckless, Nico & Vinz and Lil Jon.

iHeartRadio Festival tickets are now available to buy on TiqIQ with the opening day listed at a get-in price of $554 and the second day up for grabs at $315. The festival will also be broadcast live across 150 Clear Channel radio stations and streamed on Yahoo!, while highlights will be shown on The CW on Sept 29/30.

With previous events featuring surprise collaborations between Prince and Mary J. Blige, Pink and No Doubt and Queen, Adam Lambert and fun., not to mention Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong’s on-stage meltdown, it’s little wonder that regular host Ryan Seacrest has promised those with iHeartRadio Festival tickets ‘a weekend that they will never forget.’

Ed Sheeran Confirmed As First Act For iHeartRadio Festival 2014

With iHeartRadio Festival tickets set to go on sale in July, organisers have now officially announced ginger-haired British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran as the first act to play at the fourth annual event.

The 23-year-old, who will first launch his new album, x, at an album release party held at Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles on June 17, will join over a dozen of the hottest chart acts on stage at the two-day feast of music when it returns to Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on the weekend of September 19-20.

iHeartRadio Festival tickets sold out in just under eight minutes last year thanks to an eclectic all-star line-up which included artists from the worlds of pop (Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus), country (Keith Urban, Tim McGraw), hip-hip (J. Cole, Drake), soul (Miguel, Bruno Mars), EDM (Zedd, Tiesto) and rock (30 Seconds To Mars, Muse) as well as music legends Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney.

2013 also introduced a second daytime stage at The Lot to its line-up which hosted the likes of The Wanted, Avril Lavigne, Jason Derulo, Cher Lloyd and The Band Perry as well as various fan zones and interactive experiences.

But it’s the one-off collaborations which the festival has become renowned for since its inaugural showing in 2011. In 2012, Prince and Mary J. Blige, No Doubt and Pink, Swedish House Mafia and Usher joined forces live on stage, while last year saw Nate Ruess temporarily front rock gods Queen and Ke$ha team up with punk pioneer Joan Jett. Those lucky enough to get their hands on iHeartRadio Festival tickets should therefore expect the unexpected.

But fans of its first confirmed performer who can’t wait until the fall to see the three-time Grammy nominee in action can buy Ed Sheeran tickets for his North American summer tour on TiqIQ with the Sept 9 gig at Mansfield’s Xfinity Center currently with the lowest get-in and average price at $47/$150.

Kicking off at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 20, the opening night will feature headline slots from the Billboard chart-conquering Katy Perry, currently enjoying huge success with comeback single, “Roar,” and rock legends Queen, who will once again team up with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert.

Ahead of the release of his 30th solo album, The Diving Board, just a few days later, Sir Elton John will also grace the Sin City stage alongside New York alt-rockers fun., country icon Keith Urban and the man responsible for this summer’s most ubiquitous hit, Robin Thicke, with Muse, Benny Benassi, Chris Brown, J. Cole, Tiesto and ‘Rising Star’ The Summer Set also all confirmed to perform.

Fresh from the success of his Legends Of The Summer Stadium Tour with Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake will then top the bill on Sept 21 just ahead of Paul McCartney, who continues his love affair with the 2013 US festival scene having already played at Bonnaroo and Outside Lands.

Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and Ke$ha will also showcase their string of chart-toppers on the same day with Drake, Tim McGraw, Phoenix, Miguel, Zedd, Ne-Yo and 30 Seconds To Mars completing the hugely impressive roster.

The biggest change to this year’s festival is the addition of another stage at The Lot on the Las Vegas Strip, which will feature a further ten major artists between 10am and 4pm on the second day. Hot on the heels of her controversial MTV VMA appearance, Miley Cyrus will no doubt grab the most media attention. But elsewhere, festival-goers can also enjoy performances from The Wanted, Jason Derulo, The Band Perry, Avril Lavigne, Krewella, Cher Lloyd, Twenty One Pilots, Pete Tong and Awolnation.

Although the event officially sold out in under eight minutes back in July, there are still nearly 3000 iHeartRadio Festival tickets waiting to be snapped up on TiqIQ with the Sept 20 date currently listed at a get-in price of $603 and an average price of $1855 and the Sept 21 date at $22/$1790 for the main stage and $17/$54 for The Lot stage.

If last year is anything to go by, then fans with iHeartRadio Festival tickets should expect the unexpected. Alongside Prince’s surprise appearance during Mary J. Blige’s set, there were also one-off collaborations between Pink and No Doubt, Swedish House Mafia and Usher and deadmau5 and My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, while Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong made headlines worldwide after suffering an on-stage meltdown which subsequently led to a stint in rehab.
